'Prepared to Serve' is a course that operates in a small group setting on
Wednesday nights. The aim of the course is to take a year to encourage, equip
and enable people for gospel service within our church, parish and beyond. It
is a chance to grow as servants (ministers) of Jesus Christ, of the gospel
and of each other.
Much of the course will be focussed on getting to grips with the Bible as a
whole and understanding God's unfolding plan by tracing the story line of
scripture. We do this both chronologically and by tracing two important themes.
Having this 'big picture' enables you to see how you can play your part in
God's plan for the world with the gifts and skills and talents he has given
you. It will also give you greater confidence in handling the Bible and being
able to apply it to your own situation - something which is practiced together
throughout the course. The fundamental conviction behind the course is that
the church is led, and Christians grow, by being taught God's word.
If this course is something that you feel you would like to participate in in
future years, please talk to Philip de Grey-Warter to discuss the matter.
